I am creating Multimedia art. I see that you are a MM Producer, what sort of things do you produce (topic wise) and do you take submitions? If so what is the contract? Kenneth E. Klammer, artist

trueSpace is a product developed by Caligari that is used for the development of 3D art. (Stills and animations.) If you'd like to see first hand what trueSpace is all about, feel free to pull the demo from the trueSpace library section, and of course, take a look at all of the wonderful artwork that's been posted here by a ton of very talented users.. Also, you can check out the Feb/March CompuServe CD for a few animations done by myself (The CCD opening animation) and others here. -Terry Cotant trueSpace Users Group and Technical Support Section Leader

Hey Terry… Good talkin' to ya the other day. Look forward to seeing your proposal. BTW, what's the scoop on CI$ CD's? Am I supposed to be getting these in the mail with the magazine? Is my mailman ripping me off? <G> \\\. ========================= >-==<MIKE(>=– >-==*- /

Mike, You can contact CIS customer support directly on-line. I have been getting my CD without any problems. The latest issue is February/March. I was told that due to production issues a January/February issue was not released. Hope this helps. Keith Daniels MultiMedia Production Asst. Merrill Lynch NYC

Terry I have been a TS user for almost a year now. I have loaded some of my work into the libraries search "Klammer" to find them…hehe I still get lost trying to find my own uploads. I am interested in what upgrades are in the works? I have ver. 1.1. Thanks for the message! Ken –TS artist

Ken — Glad to see you're contributing! Thanks!! If you've got version 1.01, you'll need to apply the following patches *in order*: 1.02, 1.03, 1.04 The patches may be found here in the trueSpace UG library, and I *think* you can search by the words "trueSpace" and "patch". Please let me know if you have any other questions..

Yes Terry, I am more than happy to contribute and plan to continue. If you (or anone would care to "check out" my work just search for "Klammer" which is the common keyword I am going to use for all my uploads. I am sorry to say that I will have to revert to shorter avi files because I have yet to upgrade to a fast modem and 2400 simply takes too much time for some of my 5 meg avi files. Hopefully this will change soon. It is frustrating to (because of lack of technological access) to have so few modes of output, perhaps bad planning on my part. I truly love the avi format and aspire to make what I am calling "full feature art". Esentially this is art in motion and three dimensions. Rather than percieve an avi as a movie medium I am trying to create the impression of a new type of canves in which the artist paints small "worlds" that the viewer can interact with to a greater degree of experience and perception. This "new" medium offers great potential for breaking into unexplored realms of art creation. The advantages are relativly low cost, easy variations of images, input of cameras, lighting, sound, motion, scale, and most importantly texture and colour. With this technology every artist can have access to a complete production studio!!! And that studio with proper hardware options can output hardcopy, scupture, text, sheet music, photos, entire publications, more and more to come. Pardon me if I overstate my awe and deep excitment of what I envision as a "new age" of rapid exploration with out limits! TrueSpace is one of the first companiey to open this door of opertunity by breaking the Acounting barrior attitude of software priority. Graphical emphasis was for many years not a high priority of developers…this may be the cause of many artists thruout the world taking a anti-tech stance perhaps as a rebuff for the oversight of such gaints as…well you can guess. I think some attention is needed to get many artists back into the future…we are a vindictive lot when spurned en masse. I will do everything I can to change this known negative attitude..but I can't blame them. After all a new game was set… and they were not given access to the toys. Opps.. Terry I realize I am rambling.. let me explain I am having a major root canal and the various medications are still a bit in effect…I (at the moment) fancy I am being philisophical and free thinking…however I am becoming aware that I may be just a bore…on the other hand ..I have no shame at the moment (tell you what I think I will spread this experience arround a bit and continue this free association with someone else..lest I lose a potential friend before I really make one! hehe oh I'm gitty.
