What factors limit the speed of wireframe animation in the trueSpace interface? Is it as fast as possible? Since every frame number is displayed in the status window is it correct to conclude that the animation cannot be sped up further? In trueSpace 2.0, there is an option to select the 'base frame rate' (NTSC, PAL or Film). None of these appear to effect the time taken to animate N frames in wireframe. Ram

Wireframe speed depends on video card speed.

trueSpace 2.0 is not exactly a video intensive application. Even a small model typically requires a lot of computing ( CPU time ) which therefore tends to be much greater than the time to display the result on the screen (through the video card). However, there are video cards that can take over a large portion of the computation. But the question is whether trueSpace displays wireframe animations at rate that is comfortable to view, or at a standard rate such as NTSC, PAL or as fast as possible? Does trueSpace attempt to control the rate (frames per sec) ? Can someone from Caligari clarify?

You can change the wireframe playback speed by shortening the bars in the animation project window. The frames per second setting is fairly simple. When you render an animation of lets say 180 frames and choose the 30 FPS option, then you get 6 seconds of animation.

Please do not mention trueSpace2 features here until it's released. Thanks.

No biggie.. They don't like it, though.. <g> Thanks.

What I should really have said is some things are "publically" available (at least they mentioned it here — usually the first place for information). Other parts are not. (Caligari has put a preliminary list of trueSpace2 up here in the past.) If you're not sure what is/isn't available, your safest bet is not to mention it.. <g> I didn't want it to sound like I was coming down hard or anything.. Just some advice. Thanks..
