I am now able to confirm that Power Computing Ltd (voice +44 1234 273000, fax
+44 1234 352207) is the company which bought GVP's assets. I know that Power
was looking for other investors to share the risk with them. I don't know yet
what other companies are involved, if any.
Bossman Tony Ianiri says Power will put out a press release shortly.

Jeff,
So its Power Computing. Interesting. I suppose they are now working with
ESCOM on marketing plans. They have a lot of hard work ahead of them. Time to
roll up our sleeves gang and do it all over again! ;-} Long live the Amiga!

I know Power has talked to Escom but as for "working with", I doubt it. Not
yet, at least. There is indeed a lot of hard work to do (and a deal more money
yet to spend) and Power can't see it (GVP, that is) all coming together
properly until the end of the year.
But I think you and everyone else will understand the fresh commitment Power
Computing has made to the Amiga market. It was a risk the company did not need
to take.
I may be a romantic fool but I sincerely believe that if we all do roll up our
sleeves we really can do it all over again, provided Escom makes the right (or
right-ish) decisions early enough. All the current signs are good, but it will
be actions, not words, that will count.
I believe there will be some very interesting (and IMO very good) news breaking
early next week concerning C=UK's future involvement with the Amiga.

On what do you base this rumor?

On the basis that David Pleasance and Colin Proudfoot are having a second (and
final) meeting with Escom this weekend, the result of which we will know on
Tuesday. Probably.
If DP&CP don't do a deal with Escom at this meeting, C=UK will liquidate.

I noticed the title of this string was something about a GVP buy-out. I must've
missed the first few messages. Was there a buy-out, or is there one in the
making for GVP?
The title says it all — Power Computing buys GVP
-sja
Ok…so what does that mean for the future of GVP products????
Who knows? Ask Power Computing.
Ok…and how do I go about doing that, Steve?
There phone number was left in a message by Jeff Walker — the message has the
same subject title — look it up.
