#Amiga speed?!?!

I was curious, I see the major complaint about the amiga right now to be speed,
Im not all that well versed in the peecee world but it seems from my readings
that all a computer like the 486DX2/66 is, is just a 33 Mhz 486 running with a
clock doubler, If this is the case wouldn't it be possible to put a 100mhz
oscillator with a 50 Mhz 040. or would this cause timing probs? It just seems
to me that if intel could do it, Motorola could also (having used both
processors at the university it seems that the Motorola processors are more
flexible).

Very interesting…I came on to this section for the first time to post about
items in a MAC Zone catalog. Specifically, the Power Clips and Acceleration
Kits that attach to the Motorola chip families and promise 20%-40% faster
performance. Moreover, I downloaded from the net a posting about cutting the
trace on the 25Mhz FPU in the 030 25mhz board in the T3000 (also in my 2500)
and rewiring it to the central 50Mhz clock, thereby doubling the math speed.
They say you may just need a fan and that all 68x FPUs are rated at only half
their speed pontential. I'm still waiting to hear about the German Cyberstormn
68060 boards, at 50 and 80 Mhz – said to outpace a pentium 90Mhz when rendering
Imagine and Lightwave frames!
