Is there an AMIGA program that will provide a similar environment to the CIM
program that MS-dos and Mac users enjoy?

AutoPilot (AP.LHA in the AmigaVendor forum, library 9) is rather different, but
it saves you lots of on-line time and therefore money when posting and reading
c-mail and forum messages. It also does allows you to gather and read the
forum library contents off-line, and will download your selections
automatically. It's nice. You can try the demo version (which is what you
download) to see if you like it. Until you register, it only lets you access
c-mail and the amiga forums, if I remember correctly.

in a word, no. CIM takes advantage of a custom library written by
CompuServe which, for mysterious reasons, they will not code for the Amiga. No
library, no CIM. However, we have something better, IMHO, AutoPilot. If your
machine has AmigaDOS 2.04 or better, 1 MB of Chip RAM, and a hard disk, you can
use it. Download AP.LHA from library 9 of AmigaVendor.
One advantage of AutoPilot is that you do 95% of your work offline, so you
aren't building a large bill, unlike with CIM. The other is that it can work
unattended, which makes for more domestic bliss <g>.
