#Lenz/fx weirds

Hello all.
I have a problem with Flare:
I need a flared sun to be hiring behind the Earth. I have set the <fade
behind objects> on. But when the sun comes behind the Earth, it fades
almost 30 frames later than it supposes to do. It means the sun appears to be
in front instead of back the earth.
Somebody who can help me?. Thanks in advance.
Francisco.
In 3DS I use hide object (Lens flare object) while the sun goes behind the
earth.
Not perfect as it looks shut off like a switch. For a better look try
Lightwave's lens flare. It looks more realistic for this use than 3DS's.
Sorry guys but that's the way I see it.
Don, the LenZFX lens flare is significantly superior to Lightwave's flare (as
well as to the YG Boutique flare). Have you tried it yet?

No but thank you for bringing it to my attention. I will look into it.

If you want someone to look at that file for you, Jonas might be interested.
Zip it up with a text file explaining exactly what's going on, and upload it
here to the forum with the message "For Jonas to look at" in the description.

I will try to do that. I have some problems with my modem related to uploads, I
dont know why. It took over 1 hour to send the last message.
Thanks for your help.
Francisco.
I have created a beautiful sunburst coming out from behind a moon.
(Inspired by the Voyager opening sequence) I also had the same problem, and
the solution that worked best was to hide the object until about 10 frames
before it emerged from the moon, and to scale it down to 1% of it's original
size, re-sizing it over the 10 frames it took to get to the edge. When setting
the Flare options, set it to go off relative to object size. It turned out
very well for me. (P.S. Do you have trouble finding good texture maps for
moon/lunar surfaces?)
Hope this helps!
Thanks, I solved the problem using the envelope to diminish the flare until it
appears.
Keep in mind that you can use the time based spine envelope in Lenzfx
to control the size, intensity, etc of the flare (or separate elements), so you
can have it flare up from zero to full intensity over any range of frames as it
emerges from behind an object. One of the great things about Lenzfx is the
absolute control it gives you to independently adjust and customize every
different aspect of the flare.
