#Temp file problems
9 messages in this thread
I'm having a problem with creating a .FLI in the keyframer. Whenever I try,
3DS4 renders the first frame, then halts rendering with the message: "Can't
create temporary file: C:\3DS4\TEMP\$FLIW1$.TMP". I have ensured that the
directory is there and is listed properly in the 3DS.SET file, have tried
various system-boot configs, but 3DS4 simply refuses to write this file. Does
anyone have any idea why this is going on? I don't feel like manually creating
60-frame animations from .GIFs. 🙂

(serial number information available)
have you checked to see how much Hard drive space you have? It sounds like your
full.
Chase,
Is there enough room on your C: drive?

Yep…160 megs. What is odd is that the Fast Preview makes FLIs just fine,
but when I try to render with the RENDER command, it gives me the "Can't create
temporary file" message.
Weird, huh? BTW, this does this under clean boots AND boots with that wacky
memory manager, QEMM 7.5.

3DS still doesn't work with DOS.
I installed it in a WARP-DOS-Box then it works.
What's that??

Ernst,
Are you asking a question? Or are you just letting us know you could get 3DS
running under WARP?
If you are asking a question, please try to be as specific as possible.

It was just a statement.
I solved the problem by setting the files in config.sys to
more then 40.
Exactly!
