#computr keybrd mesh/map?
9 messages in this thread
I checked (at least I attempted too) the libraries to see if there where any
computer keyboard meshes there, or keyboard maps. I didn't find any.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to best simulate one? I am also in
need of a separate trackball to sit next to it.
Any and all suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Dennis
I am pretty sure there is a keyboard on the world creating toolkit somewhere. I
don't remeber if it was a seperate file or part of another, though.
Tim;
I'll have to look there. I just recently got a CD-ROM drive, and totally
forgot about that CD-ROM.
Thanks!,
Dennis
Tim;
I looked, and found both the Release 2 and Release 3 CD-ROM's for 3DS, and you
were right, a keyboard (with a computer) was on both. There were actually 3
keyboards. One low res, one unusual one, and one hi res version, so I am set.
I can build a trackball fairly easily.
Thanks again for the directions,
Dennis

Ketiv's "Blocks and Materials" CD has a very detailed keyboard mesh on it,
including all the individual keys. It also has several computers, (including
detailed monitors, keyboards, and CPU's, etc.), printers, plotters, etc., 25 3D
people, 7 telephones and answering machines, tons of cars, planes, boats,
trucks, chairs, lamps, appliances, furniture, … I could go on and on. Over
600 3D meshes, 340 bitmap materials, and 65 backgrounds. It's about ~$195.

John;
I forgot about that resource. I will hunt for the literature I have, and maybe
order the CD-ROM. I looked at Viewpoints literature. They have a couple of
keyboards, but the pricelist I have doesn't list the keyboards. So the CD-ROM
you suggest now sounds very inexpensive. Get the whole thing for about what
one mesh would cost. Until now, I didn't really need it.
Thanks!,

Yea; it's the best deal I've come across. It also comes with a complete printed
guide, which shows all the meshes, (all of which are provided in .3DS and .DXF
format), and color images of all the bitmaps! Also, this includes several
dozens of plant and tree images, including matched opacity maps, for quick,
easy, efficient landscape enhancement. Every 3DS user should have this CD, in
my opinion. It's a steal!

There are many of them in the WCT CD. And there is also a high detailed one in
the libs, can't remember the name though.

Mark;
Thanks for looking. I was able to find just what I needed on the CD that ships
with 3DS. I just had forgotten about it because I didn't have a CD player
until recently.
Thanks for looking though!
