Thanks for the tip. I tried your tip and it works. At first I used a round about way in the IK module. I would really like to somehow link the spotlight target to a dummy object and put the dummy object on a path. I would like the cone object to stretch like the spotlight does as you move the spotlight target. I am not sure if this is possible. I guess I need something like a vertice anchor command for the tip of the cone mesh. Or I also would like to link the spotlight target to an object as well as the cone mesh and as I move the spotlight it would stay pointed at the object and the cone mesh would also stay pointed at the object while the tip of the cone mesh moves along with the spotlight. ( I hope im being clear) . Anyhow thanks for the help. I am getting LensFX lumina tommorow so I need to rest up tonight. Plan on being up late tommorow. 🙂 later. Douglas Drossman

Douglas, Glad to help, to get the cone to change size, try morphing it to the bigger/smaller size. Your on the right track by thinking of using a dummy to get the target to follw other objects. Just link them properly and the dummy can follow an object and the target will follow the dummy. I have LenzFX and It's not very difficult to use, but your mind races for all the new things to use it on. Cheers, Tom

>> but your mind races for all the new things to use it on. Hey, I'm making God with it! Sort of an ethereal entity. I'll see if I can post some stills. DM

This is probably the best IPAS routine I've seen! However I D/L a file showing a flic of an explosion using LenzFX. Do you know how he accomplished this effect. Im fooloing around with the gradient dettings with UV on. Lots of fun trying out different combos. Have you come up with anything particularly good? Speak to you later. BTW Im using a PAR to output to SVHS. Whats your setup? Later. Douglas Drossman

Douglas, Don't know what flic you're talking about, I'll look for it and get back to you. As far as my setup goes: I have a full A/B roll studio the list of equipment is quite long but here are some of the details: JVC BR-S822U Record deck (SVHS) JVC BR-S622U Source deck (SVHS) Sony UVW 1800 Record/Source deck (BetaCam SP) Sony EVO-9850 (Hi-8) Mackie 1604 mixer Bunch of other stuff, TBC's etc. All this is spread across three computers, a P90 , aP60, and a 486/66, all Dell machines. All decks and computers are controlled by a Videomedia VLAN system. I use OZ pro for all editing tasks. I use a Targa+64 for frame output to any of the record machines. Right now, I still do frameXframe to tape with a turbo targa routine from Video Media. I was going to buy a PAR but after I saw the PVR at NAB, I put my order in for that and am now waiting for that to ship before I do any NLE stuff. For CG titles i use Deputy CG with a Magni VGA Producer Pro for VGA to NTSC encoding and genlock. On the software side, I use 3DS4, Painter Corel 5.0, and Photoshop for most graphis work. I just got Macromedia's Director and Animator Studio as well but have only just loaded them. Let me know if you want more details on something. Cheers, Tom
