Jamie- Can you or anyone on the forum point me in the direction of information about Razor's audio capabilities – both with and without the PAR? E-mail, library, FAQ's etc. would be O.K. My FAX is 804-828-1550 Thanks, Carlton

Carlton, RAZOR PRO allows you to synchronize an infinite number of audio tracks with your video tracks. There are two ways of working with images and audio. One is to edit your video and add sound effects to the audio, and the second is to lay down the audio track and then edit the images to the audio. RAZOR PRO can do both. To position audio to the images all you do is line up the audio on one of the infinite tracks of audio. You can preview the edit before you lay out your final piece. The other way is to edit the images to the audio. You can do this by laying down marker points in real time on the audio track and then using these markers in order to sync the cuts or transitions in the images to the audio. The quality of audio is up to 44.1 16 bit stereo or whatever your sound card can handle. With the PAR you can capture audio with the images using DPS' audio and video capture utility, and these combined pieces can be brought up to our editing screen together from our Library. Hope that helps. Jamie Carr in:sync

Jamie, read your note to Carlton regarding RP and audio. You described how with DPS's utility you can digitize video and audio together. What about editing them, as in a on-camera lip sync.? Can RP keep the video and audio together so that they both can be cut and pasted together or individually while maintaing sync? The ability to easily edit audio with RP as one does in a traditional editing suite (linear or non-linear) seems to be the way to make RP truly competitive with the big boys like Avid & ImMix.

Craig, Yes, RAZOR PRO does keep the audio and the video together once it has been captured together and yes people are dropping AVID systems like flies to move to RP. But you ain't seen nothing yet – wait till you see the new release. (June 1) Jamie Carr in:sync

Jamie, It's been a while…. hope your getting the chance to enjoy the spring a bit between your globe trots… 🙂 << With the PAR you can capture audio with the images using DPS' audio and video capture utility>> Does this thing work? I tried to get it to work the other day and it asked me for a file name the first time, told me it was invalid and then on further attempts just told me 'Invalid File' 'Invalid File' . Since it didn't actually come with any docs I just was wondering if you or anyone was able to record using the PAR VCR utility??? Brendan G.

When I first installed RP on my system it requested the serial # from disk #1. NONE of the disks had this number and panic struck. However, it is on the first page title sheet of the ref. manual. Once entered I was up and running. What a GREAT product! It does everything it claimed it would with ease. 1 complaint however, I did not receive any free TRANZJAMMER(ELASTIC REALITY) transitions bundled as advertised.

Dear Jamie, I also did not receive the TransJammer transitions?FX for the Razor Pro purchased two weeks ago from NWTech near Seattle. Razor Pro is fantastic even without them and the product needs to be made even better known… If you can do anything… Chris Horn Technofilm 29A Whitcomb Street London WC2H
