Hello, I just got a new 90mhz Pentium with an Award BIOS and ATI Mach 64 Turbo Pro video card. I installed my copy of 3DS R4 on it, and though it does run fine, it takes almost a full minute to load up. I've fiddled with everything i could think of; config.sys and autoexec.bat files, 3DS and 3DSnet set files, BIOS parameters, ad nauseum… As i'm sure is true of most users, i'm in and out of 3DS all the time, so having to wait for 60 seconds each time it loads up would be inconvenient in the extreme. Any clues? rob

I think a while ago I saw a file (use at your own risk) that fixed that problem. This happens to me too with my ATI M64. I'm sure others can help you too. -Kouros.

I have the same problem on my P100. I`m using the ATI Mach 64 with 4MB VRAM, too. The problem is because of the ATI Mach 64. I`ve heard that ATI works to solve the problem (it`s not a driver problem but a BIOS or graphic processor problem), Michael

I guess the folks @ ATI never fixed that problem. I had the exact same problem with my ATI Mach64, I was lucky enough to exchange it with a Number 9 GXE64 Pro. #9 doesn't have as many bells and whistles but the performance is solid. I don't know if that helped you any, but I as well as many others on this forum can assure you that it is the ATI card that is causing the problem. pHred
