#Are U a CD-ROM Publisher
5 messages in this thread
Do you publish or distribute (DOS or Windows) CD-ROMs?
Our company (ZCI) will be launching a line of multimedia CD-ROMs with
full-page advertising (for each title) in PC MAGAZINE (beginning Jan 20
with the Feb issue). We will be offering discs at full retail with direct
response advertising.
We would like to give away a free bonus CD-ROM (DOS or Windows) from
another company with our disc. If you know of a CD-ROM disc that we could
distribute in this way, please E-MAIL me where to contact you.
The ideal disc would be a non-current monthly subscription to a service, or
an older version of an existing disc. We will, of course, supply the
provider of such a disc with the full information on each CD-ROM owner who
gets one. In certain cases, we are paying a few dollars for each disc
where the publisher does not benefit indirectly.
Thank you.
Paul Zane Pilzer ZCI, Inc.
Can you tell us more about the titles you are releasing?
We are a full-service CD-ROM publisher coming out with many (MANY) titles
under different "labels." Labels currently include Medicine
(single-disease titles like Migraines, Psoriasis, etc), Law (multimedia bar
review, LSAT, Contracts for Businesspeople), General Education (Malcolm X,
JFK Assassination, many secondary school subjects), and weekly newsmagazine
publishing. I'm somewhat contrained in speaking about unreleased titles.
We are also doing A LOT of self-paced learning applications (Series 7
exams, SAT, Public Speaking, etc.)
Take a look at the Feb. issue of PC MAGAZINE (First Looks section) and then
every issue thereafter.
Sounds interesting. Are these DOS applications? Or do I need to deal with
the "overhead" of Windows?
They are DOS and Windows. (The data and audio/video is in a standard form,
and we provide separate Windows, DOS, MMCD and VIS operating engines to
view/use it).
The title we are opening with next week (in PC MAGAZINE) is a DOS
application that looks like very fast windows but runs on any DOS machine
above a 286.
It's called MULTIMEDIA POWERTALK!
