#NYC 3DS Sig's

Hey all,
was wondering if anyone had any info about sig groups in NYC. I tried
contacting the people listed at the end of 3D Artist but its been a hard to get
in touch. Any help on this would be great.

Let me know if you have any luck…I've been looking for a NYC users group
but have found nothing so far.

I have had about the same luck in the past as your having now.
A colleage of mine is also interested in joining/creating a NYC users
group for some time now. It seems a bit embarassing that NYC, the
new 'Hub' of digital artistry, is left wanting for an active user
group to share ideas and opinions on software and technique. If we
can muster enough interest it might be worth while for any interested
parties to get together some evening in the city.

Well you know what they say…If you want something done right (well
you know the rest)…. I also find it somewhat unbelievable that NYC
'the advertising industry capitol' doesn't have any 3DS users who
would want to get in touch with other users. Hmmm …..could it be
that infamous NY congeniallity and hospitality trait surfacing?
(DISCLAIMER: For any pro-New Yorkers…I'm just kidding….They get
so touchy sometimes)

Sounds like a plan. I think I'll continue this thread out on the open
forum to see if we can pick up any other interested souls…. One fellow
already msg'd me and is up for the idea. Anyway my # is 718 317-7563 and I'm
here from dawn to dusk ( sounds pretty dedicated huh ? ). Actually my studio
is in my home so I usually lurking about. Look forward to getting this thing
up and rolling. 🙂

Im also quite surprised there are no NYC sigs's. I was wondering if perhaps
there had been one before and maybe it didnt work out due to poor attendance or
something,If so I would like to get in contact with that person in hopes of
maybe getting it going again.
Ive been also considering perhaps just starting(or help start) a new group, I
would very much like to speak with that colleage of yours Brendan, to see what
we might work out. Kim expect a call from me within the next cpl of days.

I have been in msg contact with Kim on just going ahead and starting a
'splinter faction' of our own. And if we can find the 'Mother Group' and merge
or absorb them at a later time then that would be cool. But personally I'd
rather start off with a few solid users and grow than join a low pulsed large
group that can't decide whether to be active or not. My # is 718 317-7563 I
spoke to my friend John about it and he's definately up for it. Actually he is
helping me build a small blue screen studio here this week. We're going to start
a real push toward the interactive CD Rom market, I think the merging of 3D &
Live action is really where I want to be in the future.. Talk to ya soon.

Been making some progress on this end, I contacted some folks at ADesk last
week and have already received some info from them. I also had the chance to
talk to a few people regarding the group and they seem support the idea of a
group. I'll give you a call later today so that we can talk further.
