A local Computer throwaway rag has a Pentium motherboard.
It uses the Intel Triton Chipset, the ad says.
It will take EDO SIMMS, it says.
It has 4-PCI and 4-ISA, & up to 1MB Cache.
Is this a good motherboard?
There is a picture but I cannot tell if the PCI slots can take full length
cards.
Is a local company selling it, or an indiviual?

Yes, it is the May 1995 issue of Computer Bits, the first inside page (is
that page 1 or page 3?).

I called the motherboard seller to ask about the length of the PCI cards.
The person said that the PCI cards probably could not be full length, except
possibly one of them. I recall that a discussion about at least one possible
PCI card for 3DS users (was that the new DPS video card?) was full length.
That limitation would be a major bummer for an otherwise interesting M/B.
If it uses the triton, how bad can it be? Is it a 120Mhz?

The ad says:
"Supports Pentium 75,90,100,120,133MHz & >133MHz CPUs"
But then, I have heard that some ads exagerate <g>.

Since I am also in the market for a MB, I checked out go INTELP posted the
Q. What MB to buy? and was told that ASUS and Super Micro currently have the
hottest MB's with Micro's being the most upgradeable (they both use the Triton
Chipset). This may be the one you are refering to?
Intel is coming out with a MB called Endeavour, but its wait-see till then.
I think it will use their Triton chipset also. Hope this helps.

It would be a real bummer to buy a new motherboard and then find that a
critical thing like the DPS PVR just will not fit.
The idea of putting the chip components on one side and the cards on the
other, as mentioned here, I think, seems very logical.
Anyway I am just window (pun<g>) shopping right now, so thanks.
