#Toronto for SIGGRAPH
7 messages in this thread
How about bringing SIGGRAPH up to Toronto. It is a big city with fewer big
city problems and although funny looking, the Canadian dollar is cheap ($1.40
for every American dollar). Technology is on the cutting edge, it is the home
of Alias Research, ATI Technologies, DPS, etc.
Aside from computer sales people, everyone is really friendly up here. It is
kind of sad that I have to drive Montreal or Rochester to shop for hardware.
Just a thought, pHred

Anywhere in Canada would be fine by me. Siggraph, in the heat of August, would
be much more palatable in a cooler climate.

Siggraph in Canada in August….YES!!!
I'll vote for that….!

Wow! Is that true?
How else to answer this:
Philippe…Nietzsche would be proud….sweeping skepticism or what Arthur C.
Danto calls his (epistemological) "nihilism" – his doubts, of several kind,
about the ability of human beings to acquire any beliefs or opinions worth
calling "truth" or "knowledge," and about the existence of any 'facts" at all.
Well….I digress.
Thank you for sharing "The Joyful Wisdom". <BG>

Did I mention the great fishing we have up here? Or all the great places to
visit in the city. We also have the Bluejays, a great Canadian baseball team
with all American players.
And I thought I was going to laughed at for suggesting Toronto.
Thanx for the warm response.

During my past two summers I managed to make my vacations include an excursion
to Canada. I've seen a little bit of Nova Scotia and Quebec. If I didn't like
it I guess I wouldn't keep coming back. I like your idea of bringing SIGGRAPH
to Canada.
They probably have the next couple lined up (actually I have only heard that
96 will be in New Orleans) but maybe 97 or 98?
