Does anyone have any experience with accessing the Internet through a graphical
Mac interace? One of the local providers in Los Angeles, NetCom, only offers a
Shell account (command-line UNIX style access), and supposedly does not support
being able to use something like NetScape after login. Are any of you
experienced communicators aware of a provider and/or browser that can be used
with the Mac? Thanks for any leads.

I just have recieved an ad from a company that will let you access the internet
and a bunch of BBS for a flat rate of $30/month (+ your local phone rates) with
unlimited connect time, as soon as you are located in one of the Top 100 US
metro markets. Of course, LA is on that list. The connection will let you use
Netscape (that's SLIP/PPP right?), althought I haven't tried it yet. I am
planning a login for next week, but if you get there before me, I will be glad
to hear from you.

Plenty of other things on my plate, so you'll probably get there first.
I believe I did see a provider with that offer, but, again, wasn't sure of Mac
support.

I am extremely happy with this CRIS connection. The Mac support is there, 110%.
Same to Windoze. It works _extremely_ well, and I recommend it to anyone that
wants to get into the net. I will start to explore the free personal WWW page
soon. I am amazed and wasting too much time in the WWW 🙂 Boy, this CD-ROM is
huuuuuuge <vbg>
Again, I will be happy to help you to setup your connection, but it is so easy
and silly to setup, that you won't need any help at all. I told you, less than
2 minutes and you will be up and running on the Web. Again, I love it 🙂
