We have an HP-4 with 6 MB memory that is choking on some very small jobs. It is on a WFWG network server, BTW. A small, 1 page, Lotus 4 spreadsheet with only a dozen or so lines and lines around perhaps 20 cells causes it to get a memory overrun. It happens in both 600 dpi and 300 dpi modes, but it happens earlier when set for 600 dpi. I can't see why this would even come close at 600 dpi! I took the same spreadsheet home and ran it without problem using Quattro (I don't have Lotus) on my 5 MB HP-3. Any ideas what might be causing this ? TIA, Steve

Hi Steve, Try setting Page Protection to a size and see if this helps. Bud

Steve, Make sure the driver is set to Raster Mode not GL/2. Lotus sends a lot of bitmapped data which chokes the printer in GL/2 mode (which is normally more efficient). – Dick Minnick [Ford],74417,51 @ 11-May-1995, 23:55:25 EST [Troy, MI]

Thanks for the tip on "Raster Mode", Dick. I'll check it out tomorrow. Steve
