We desperately need a _working_ printer driver for our new HP4MV for use with FrameMaker 4.0 Windows. We received the Adobe 2.1.1 driver with the printer, and it has serious problems in that it won't print all the pages of some of our documents and causes GPFs when printing others. We downloaded the Adobe 2.1.2 driver from the Adobe Systems forum this morning and spent _all_day_ trying to make it work. Still doesn't print all of some documents. Fewer GPFs though. The suggested work-around of using the Windows 3.58 PS driver doesn't meet our needs because we need to use the 11" X 17" capability of the printer. In fact that was one of the reasons for purchasing the printer. Any suggestions? Don't much want to hear "a new driver is coming this summer." <Chas>

Most people do not have this problem with the 2.1.2 driver that you're having, so it's certainly something in your own setup. Adobe is quite familiar with the driver and supports it in ADOBEAPPs here, and you might check and see if they have any ideas. I've had a few problems in getting things to print now and then (mostly solved by adding lots of memory to the printer, optimizing the hard disk, and freeing up TEMP space) but I can't remember having a GPF with this driver and I've typeset some pretty large books with it including one in FrameMaker 4. This isn't to make light of your problem or deny it, but merely to point out that since it's NOT generic it's not something easily solved, if at all, by remote BBS even if we had a clear picture of your entire system, which you have not furnished.
