Great to hear, Clint! Is there a version later than 5.0 for Distant Suns?
There are a couple of simple but annoying bugs that I was wondering if they had
been fixed. The titlebar font not being handled properly is one that comes to
mind.

Distant Suns 5.01 is the latest. I will have the source soon and will be
able to start tracking down those small annoying bugs, so let me know when you
run across one! <grin> I think the only change for 5.01 was to make it able to
access the Hubble catalog on the Mac Distant Suns CD.

Clint –
Is the Mac Distant Suns CD available to us Amigoids at a reasonable discount?
What's on it?

Yes, the Mac Distant Suns CD is available at upgrade prices. It is usable
with Distant Suns 5.01 Amiga, at least the Hubble data is, the image data is in
some Mac format. It contains the 16 million star Hubble Catalog and about 1500
astronomical images.

Is Virtual Reality Labs going to come out with a Distant Suns 5.x on CD? With
so many Amiga owners now having CD-ROM drives, it`s time for developers to make
CD-ROM versions of popular titles. I speak from the standpoint of an Amiga user
and dealer, a great deal of my Amiga sales revolve around CD-ROM drives and
titles.

I am taking a serious look at both Distant Suns and VistaPro on CD. Both
have huge databases which are ideal for a CD environment. The one main issue is
how much can one person do. I currently have 8 projects on my plate right now
and am also trying to run a company and do tech support, but CD projects are
definitely a priority for me.
In the meantime, you can use Distant Suns 5.01 with the Mac CD-ROM's
Hubble Catalog. The images will be in a format that won't be of much use
without a conversion program, but the Hubble Catalog will be usable.
I will announce here when various projects are complete. I am working
full time on the Amiga now, so there will be things happening as fast as I can
make them happen.

Glad to hear it, Clint. Keep up the good work, and good luck.

That`s good to hear Clint, both Vista Pro and Distant Suns would make great CD
titles for Amiga. Any hints as to what new Amiga projects you`re working on?
🙂
