I have WB3.1 working on my a1200 with KS3.0 in it. The WB is left from by a500
that is about to die 🙁 However if you want to upgrade the ROMS you MUST get
the a1200 KS3.1 ROMS. There are major differences between a4000 & a1200
Kickstarts. I think there was at least one version of 3.1 that requires a maths
co-processor to work and some that require 020s to work. Also anything a1200
specific (PCMCIA etc) won't be supported in an a500/a3000/a4000 version. There
shouldn't be any mother board problems as I don't think CBM had enough time to
rev the mother board before going bankrupt.

PMJI, but what in your opinion are the advantages of moving up to 3.1 on the
A1200? I've got 3.1 on an A2000 and 3.0 on my A1200. I generally know the
feature differences, but don't see anything that's more than marginally
different in their featureset. Bug fixes? How about a middle-of-the-road
solution, where I'd load the 3.1 software into the A1200 but retain its 3.0
ROM?

You can put WB3.1 on the a1200, this gives you some different monitor drivers
and maybe some new libraries. I will take a look through the autodocs at some
point to check what actual differences there are, main thing I remember is
about CD32 compatibility (booting from CDROM etc).

I use WB 3.1 also on my A1200. It is the ROMS that I want upgraded. They'll
work on the A4000 but not on the A1200.
