I recently bought a used A2000 to run my PhonePak. It came with the A2091 Hard Drive Controller and Quantum LPS105, with no RAM onboard and no documentation. I also have an old A500 with a SupraDrive 500XP with 2MB of RAM installed. My question is: Can I take the 2MB (4 chips) from my SupraDrive and install it on the A2091? The RAM sockets appear to be the same size but I don't know if the chips are the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Richard Moore 70531,70

Richard, as I, too, own a SupraDrive 500XP I'd like to know if there are any newer SupraBoot and SupraTools disks out than the ones I have (Workbench 1.3.2). Christian, You apparently have a newer version than do I. When mine boots, I get the message "Supramount – Series II – V1.10f". Does Supra have a forum anywhere on CIS?? Maybe we should try "GO SUPRA". Regards, Richard Moore 70531,70

Richard – The A2091 has a jumper for memory. The settings are 512K, 1MB and 2MB so the max is 2MB. I believe there are eight sockets in the A2091. In that case, the 4 chips, which must be 512K each, would not work in the A2091, since at 2MB max, the A2091 would use 256K chips. Here's an idea: As finding memory chips for the 500XP is very hard (since they're old enough a format now to be made in smaller, thus more expensive quantities) you might be able to sell them used to a dealer or through BBS want ads, which would also be a good source for cheap A2091 memory. — from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, via Amiga AUTOPILOT v1.78 [the only way to fly the cyberscape]
