#Help regardign RAM

Ok..so Im stupod about the inside of my AMiga… Its 4000..standarsd set up..(10 megs)..Toasterized.. Now I want to add RAM so I cna run Alpha PAint….(need atleats 12)..how is this done? Can I buy standard SIMMs ram or is it something special for AMIGA?…and what is my benefit for more RAM? Is Simms the same as for PC?..and so,,,what should I expect to pay?..can I install it?

get 1×36 or 1×32 simms at least 80ns.tou can also use the simm expander products in the 4000.it will costs you from 150 to 200 dollars.

Al: You can use any standard 72-pin 4MB SIMM, either the 1 x 32 or 1 x 36. The ones for PC's will work because the Amiga just ignores the parity bit. I would say you would probably spend $125-$150 for a 4MB SIMM but I haven't checked in quite some time.
