Hello, It looks like everyone gets SS running. I have an A2000 with a 2630 accelerator card in it. When the Startup-sequence executes the PrepareEmul file, the A2000 keeps booting over and over again. The manual tells something about patching the KickStart file. I don't find one on my system. I suppose it is located in the 2630 ROMs. Is there a work around to solve this problem, or did I overlook something. Thanks for the help Hans

Greetings Hans, The same happened with my machine, a 2000 with the 2630 accelerator… try the little program 'RsrvMem' from the Emplant-Software, it must be placed in the first line of the Startup-Sequence. This will stop the looping boot. Maybe you will have another problem when you start the emulation; I had every screen trashed at the first times, and had to reboot. If this should happen to you then, try to raise the priority of your fast memory to +5. I have an additional 32b-ramboard (12 MB), and it worked there. If you succeed, please mail… Harri with AP (from Germany)

Hello Harri, I do not have the program 'RsrvMem' from the Emplant-Software. I can understand from the SS-manual that PrepareEmul should be equivalent to 'RsrvMem', but it keeps booting the A2000 over and over again. The manual also tells something about ReKick. I couldn't figure out where to put it (in the Startup-sequence?) or when to execute it. Patching the kickstart file isn't succesful either because I don't find one. Is there so much difference between a A2000 with a 2630 board and a A3000? To take a long story short: I didn't succeed getting ShapeShifter running. Hans (from Belgium)

YOu first need to get the program saverom to a macintosh, convert it using something like stuffit into an executable ,run it copy the rom image to your amiga and rename it.you'll also need a copy of system 7+ to get it working also a high density floppy drive to boot up the emulated mac.the shareware version does not support hard drive files though.

Dear Lepido, I already copyed the Mac ROM image to the Amiga. I own a Mac and have thus no problem to get system soft. The real problem is that the A2000 simply keeps booting once it executes PrepareEmul. So I don't even need the Mac ROMs at the moment. There is thus something wrong with the A2000, the 2630 card and Prepemul combination, but what???? Hans

the doc did mention that it did reboot the system to setup the emulation settings.I think the problem may lie is that you don't have the floppy drive it needs to work i.e. an highdensity floppy drive maybe someone else knows the real problem.
