>>Amiga has a reputation for having innovative technology as in "yeah, Amiga the great computer that Commodore killed…"<< Among those who know of it, yes. But I think a catchy name (maybe including "Amiga") would get the attention of the people who say, "What's an Omega?". And there are a LOT of those. >>Update it… keyboard connector in the front for example.<< Like in the A2000, maybe? 🙂 And a BIG case — extra drive bays and slots, like the average desktop PC. "What's an Omega?" Maybe that should be the new name (or slogan)… Lots of name recognition! 😉 / / / //ANDRE

.. AND a REAL power supply with enough wattage to supply all those slots and drives…

Everyone remembers the "Omega" insult. Right? Let's encourage the new owners to be smarter. MUCH SMARTER.

>>Everyone remembers the "Omega" insult. Right<< I "remember" it because I still hear it, virtually every time I tell somebody about my system. Yes, let's hope ESCOM knows more about marketing than Commodore did.

Human nature can be so depressing. I mean, it's always shocking to witness how eager and proud some people can be in displaying their ignorance when it is based in, and supported by, the "mainstream" wisdom. This is a terrible reminder how hellish happenings such as the Nazi extermination regime could take hold. And I don't think I'm exaggerating. Anyway, it's interesting to see how the IBM OS/2 croud is having a tough time spreading their OS gospel within a Windows world. They are complaining about lack of coverage and all. It's almost comical and satisfying to see them squirm. Many of these are the same people who would snicker righteously at the Amiga… This is all just more proof how important it is to be smart about 'imaging' the Amiga into something new and promising, yet taking advantage of it's previous strengths and history. I believe the micro-computer world has now much more respect for 'multimedia' prowesses. Because they are all having such a hard time doing it now. The new machine has to presented in a light that demonstrates past accomplishments while showing future promise for rapid improvements. This is not an easy task and may well be very tricky. But it is entirely possible. I happen to believe this would be best accomplished by concocting a superlative and entirely new moniker for the computer. One could still promote its heritage, but the new name would automatically instill the idea of 'new and improved'.

Nothing wrong with Omega, the last computer you'll ever need to buy. It'll take the competition a lifetime to catch up.
