Does your system have a GVP 16 meg SIMM on it? I didn't know they were
available. I have a 040/ 33 for A2000 and would really like to go to a pair
of 16 mg SIMM's

I recently purchased 2 GVP 16 meg simms for my GVP '040 @33 (A2000). I removed
my 4 4 meg simms, removed the jumper for burst mode and closed (shorted) the
jumper for 16 meg simms recognition.
All hell broke loose with my system and I am sending the simms back for
replacements (lifetime guaranteed) assuming the problem was with these simms. I
now have the 4 4 meg simms back in place and my system seems to be running ok.
If you do get and install the 2 16 meg simms, I would appreciate some follow up
on how your system is working.

I went through 4 of these accelerators before I found one that works.
They require all simms to be of same type (part number on chips must match)
There are 3 different numbers that I am aware of so far for 4 meg simms.
My advice is to leave it alone if it is working. <G>

It's not the 4 meg simms that ae giving me the problem it's the 2 new 16 meg
simms. I've had the GVP'040@33 for about 2 years and it has rarely "acted up"
with the 4 meg simms..

Yep, I understand Hank.
They seem real picky on memory is all.
The memory from my 030/50mhz and my 040/33 are not interchangable as
advertized.

That's funny. I made the upgrade from the 030/50 mhz to the 040/33 and
carried my memory over. It worked fine.

Yeah, It did work that way on one of my boards, but it wouldn't go the
other way. 030 board crashed to a red screen. I tried six(6) different
simms on the 030 50 board and all of them crashed to a red screen. Also
fail GVP memory test.
Origional Simms on 030 board worked fine however. I figured it was caused
by the higher memory speed on the 030 board.
Part numbers on the simms were different.

I hope you're not trying to return the Simms to GVP. They are no longer in
business!

No, Gary, it's a company in Colorado!
The system will go out tomorrow morning, by the way. I've had some unexpected
problems and could't get it out sooner.
