#VTR JITTERS
5 messages in this thread
Mike,
I spent some time experimenting with frames/fields on a 7750/V-LAN set up.
You can change the 3DS.SET for default but, (on my system) if you have
saved your mesh file with System Options/Render-Fields/Off then this will
override the 3DS.SET, which seems a bit odd. Check this menu setting.
I drew a useful little sketch showing switch settings, cable connections,
software settings, etc. for the AG7750. Give me your Fax No and I will
forward a copy.

The only time that it should override the values in the 3DS.set file is when
you load and save as a project.
Or do you have a 3DS.PRJ file saved with fields ON?

Martin:
Your comment concerning saving a mesh object with Render Fields off
is very interesting because last evening I was finally able to render to
fields but only after creating an object while render fields was on. When I
brought in an old file (created with render fields off) it would give me
the jitters every time(although render to fields was still on). Note that
it was not a project file. Even stranger, I was able to finally get this
file to render to fields by first sending it to the VTR with frame
repeats=1 and heads and tails off. Then I just sent it again to the VTR how
I actually wanted. Perhaps it would also work to bring in the old file and
save it with render fields on, then load it again?? Perhaps there is some
rhyme or reason behind all this. Thanks for the diagram offer, my fax is

I will check out the difference between settings in .PRJ and .3DS files. I
have had a quick check in the manuals but could not find any guidance on
the priorities of the settings. When I was experimenting I expected the
.SET file to be the ultimate override.
I also found inconsistencies in the operation of head/tails but put it down
to my deviant hardware. (BTW thanks to all for help with previous problems.
I have exchanged Hercules XP for a Targa+ to great effect. Still have some
problems regarding sync and occasional bad frame but just looking into that
now. Question – Will a Diaquest or external TBC improve over the AG7750
intenal TBC?).
I will update my diagram tomorrow and send tomorrow.

I recieved your fax today- many thanks. I plan to spend the weekend
experimenting with the render to fields problem and will get back to you
with my settings and anything else I learn.
