#Amigaworld demise?

I am trying to find out if and when Amigaworld went under.Also,has the
liquidation
been resolved? Will the Amiga ever roll off of another production line?
– Amiga World's last issue I beleive was May issue (or whichever month is
schedule this month)
– Supposely the 21st of April someone will own the Amiga (if there is no more 2
week delays, like they been since July)
– And only GOD knows if the Amiga will ever be made
Although Draco (a 68060 machine running Amiga DOS distributed by Noeji) is
schedule to come out in the summer (at least that is what they say in their
ads).
Amiga World's last issue was the April Issue…Even the staff on AW didn't know
the bad news was coming until the mag went to press…
As far as the Amiga's reintroduction/production….The AMIGA will be BACK, with
much built-up demand….. Court system is prehistoric….

So tell me,has there been any trickles of info about the Amiga situation since
I last surfed the net? There are some awesome deals being offered in the trade
papers by private owners,tempting to be sure,but I AM APPREHENSIVE about
investing in something the vendors are abandoning like rats from a sinking
ship!(But who can blame them? I mean,why waste your time selling Caligari 24
for $300 to an Amiga loyalist when you can change the name to "truespace",tack
another $500 onto the price,and sell basically the same product to some poor
clod fumbling around on a PC clone? But enough about me…) Whoever said it was
better in the Bahamas obviously never tried to do business there. Oh well, I
guess while I'm waiting I could maybe take typing lessons…
Well the Amiga has been sold to Escom, a consumer electronics company in
Germany that closely resembles Radio Shack. Now we are just waiting around to
see what plans Escom has for the Amiga, who they might license the technology
to, etc. You might check up on AmigaUser once in awhile since that is where
most of the information is posted.

I've always had a love/hate relationship with Radio Shack.
Living in the Los Angeles area, I can go maybe a mile in any direction and
find a store. This is nice.
Radio Shack seems to be well stocked, even with electronic gizmos that I'll
never use. Still, seeing all those ICs and things on the shelf gets my
creative juices flowing.
But:
I've not found many people at Radio Shack that can actually 'help me' when
they ask if they can; That is, other than pressing the buttons on the cash
regester. Stores like Radio Shack are good at sales, and not as good at
follow-up support.
Is the type of service that can be expected in the future for Amiga
products?
It is, of course much too early for any meaningful speculation on my part.

I take it that you heard about Escom winning the bid.?. Personally I don't
know what to make of it yet, although I wish to stay optimistic about AMY's
future…
As a subscriber to Video Toaster User, as well as Amazing Amiga, I have noticed
A LOT of articles, question corners, etc. saying that with the Toaster being
available soon for the clones, it may be a good time to switch
formats….EGADS!!! If I remember correctly, NewTek wouldn't (possibly) be
around today if the Amiga had not been available.. Talk about loyalty….
True loyalty is only as thick as ones wallet, in most cases, but when you've
followed a computer from infancy thru major surgery, you develop a gut loyalty
to the computer… (True our laptops at work are IBM clones….but I still LOVE
my 3 Amigas best…) I just wish there were more loyaltists for the Amiga….
The "surgery" is much easier to get through when family members are pressing
you on to get "well"…(interesting analogy)..
