#Lightwave scenes
5 messages in this thread
Hi everybody,
I'm experimenting with Lightwave. My plan is to publish Lightwave animation on
CD-Rom and CD-I. Please send me your best animation-scene's to my Compuserve's
adress. I have a PAR to render the scene's to broadcast video. As far as I
understand it doesn't matter if your scene files are originally created on a
Amiga or a PC. I'm looking forward on meeting you and your work soon!

Ha!
Sure, I'll send you all my best scenes – absolutely free – and let you do
whatever you want with them.
I admire your enthusiasm, but I make a living on this stuff.
Let's talk about licenses, and then you might get more respondents.
And, what good is a PAR for producing CD-ROMs? (I hope you're not going to
output to video, and then compress it to MPEG on the fly?!? That'll look
horrid.)
Are you saying you have a CD-ROM writer for your Amiga(?!?), or is this
being done on the PC?

Hi Erik,
Thanks for your quick response.
I was actually planning to output to D3 PAL video and finalize it on a CD-I
disk.
I have pretty good experiences with that.
I understand that you have to make a living, doesn't everybody. This particular
CD-I showcase might enhance that.
Tell me want you like to be mentioned in your license agreement.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Greeting from Holland,

You'll have to pardon my previous message.
It might have come off a _little_ harsher than I'd meant it to. }:^)
There are a lot of 'startups' out there who love to call and try to milk
me for as much free info and stuff as they can get – in many cases, they
just disappear after I've wasted an hour or two helping them out.
I'm interested in finding out more about this, since if you're doing CD-I,
I can provide a complete edited demo reel, with music.
Primarily I'm not interested in 'giving away' a bunch of scenes and models
that I've put long hours into. Many have usage restrictions placed on them
by the original client, too.
If you could e-mail me more info about your plans, I'd definitely consider
it. (I've already got images and objects on a number of CD-ROM's out there
now, so adding the same material to another disc is no problem. And free
advertising is hard to turn down!)
Thanks, &

Dear Erik,
Sceptism is a very good quality in a person and is sincerely admired and
stimulated from where I stand. When you already have a lot of stuff on tape it
will be greatly welcomed over here. The reason I asked for scene's, any scene,
was to try out wether it is effective to exchange complete scene's over
Compuserve or the Net in order to convince my clients also of the fact that
every animator working for them doesn't neccesarily have to live in Holland to
finalize a project. Furthermore the client would have a wider variety of choice
in design signatures if you understand what I mean. This is basicly the goal I
am aiming at. So don't hesitate when you have further questions. I gladly
reply.
Have a nice weekend.
Greetings,
Eduard
