If there is a way to run 24 bit at 1600×1200 I'm extremely
interested. I missed the beginning of this thread and I apologize
for jumping in but that resolution sounds great!
What kind of Horizontal and Vertical synch does this card use?
If it will synch on a 6FG then it should synch on the 5D also.
The synch ranges are fairly close. We have 5D's and 6FG's but no
Taxans. It would sure be nice to see that resolution though.

No, the 5D won't do it. It peeters out at 1280×1024. You'll need a monitor
which handles a 135 MHz bandwidth, 78 KHz horizontal scan rate, and 60 Hz
vertical refresh rate. The 6FG meets the spec, and works (I've run mine at
1600×1200 with good results.)

Are you sure you got the horizontal and vertical Hz right? Shouldn't it be
78vertical and 60horizontal. And were do you find the bandwith rating of
the monitor. I have a viewsonic 7 and can't find the bandwidth rating in
the documentation.

60 Hz vertical.
Generally, bandwidth is an obscure rating. The Viewsonic 7 should be
nominally a 100 MHz monitor. It's good for 1280×1024 @ 60 Hz vertical, or
1024×768 @ 72 Hz vertical. (Going from memory)

Maybe you can give me a little tech. info. here. I thought the horizontal
ratings were usually lower than the vertical ratings.
Ex: max on the Viewsonic 7, 64kHz horizontal, 90kHz vertical.
Do or can some manufactors set which direction of scan is to be higher
than what other manufactors set?
