#Subtitling
4 messages in this thread
I've currently got myself a DOS/Windows video system and I've been
looking for some software that will allow me to do subtitleing via my
computer. If there are any reccomendations…I'm listening!
If you want to overlay titles and graphics onto existing video tape
then you want to look at video boards that have an "overlay"
capability. There are Overlay Genlock cards that do only this, and
there are Video Capture Cards that also have an "overlay"
functionality.
The Fast Movie Machine and Miro DC1 are two video capture cards that
feature a live video overlay function. They sell for about $500.
Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure that the cards I have can do
overlays. At least I can do it manually. What I need is some kind
of software that can take the manual process of putting text where I
want it into an automatic one based on timing.
Aha, William. You need "sequencing" software, I'll call it. Packages like
Adobe Premiere, Curtain Call, and others (that I can not think of now) will do
this for you. Someone else may jump in with more constructive suggestions.
