Has anyone had any experience with any of the low-end Ultimatte boxes like the NewsMatte or the AmuseMatte? I have a non-broadcast application that requires a chroma key, and am looking for some feedback. There is a box called the ChromaKey+ that is made for the Toaster. It uses a composite, not an RGB signal, and I fear the key may not be clean enough. Has anyone had any hands-on experience with any of these products. I'm also looking for an inexpensive, industrial grade RGB 3 chip camera. Any comments or suggestions would be helpful.

Drew, I have seen promotional literature and video tapes on the ChromaKey+ but have never tried to key with it myself. The promotional video looked o.k., not totally proffesional, but usable. I am pretty sure that it does not require a toaster, but it probably requires an overlay genlock device of some sort. -John

Have you looked at the Grass Valley Model 1000? It has integral licences Ultimatte technology.
