Frankly there really is little question that for the PC the ///FAST VM or VM Lite is the 'best' solution for the prosumer and professional. Any they offer an integrated path to NLE when you're ready. Fast is on MULTIB, Section 6. A good section with lots of help too. As a professional I would find this a very comfortable home I believe … tho I'm an amateur at this. If you want to wait until late summer, as a guess, there are a slew of new PCI full screen video capture cards coming out that MIGHT enable you to go straight NLE and put together something less expensive than ///FAST. So you could put together a bare bones linear system now and wait. With NLE you won't need more than one good deck … indeed you could get by with a camcorder. Instead you spend your money on hard drives, and a PCI bus … maybe your Pentium has this bus alread? Adobe Premiere is the NLE editor of choice and is found on ADOBE forum. -jts
