#What's the best platform

Hi-
I am new to this area. I am trying to get information for my brother.
He wants to start a non-linear editing (to tape) production company out of his
home. He has been struggling in underground film for a few years and knows
that end. I am a computer hardware – software – networking consultant, working
mostly with IBM compatibles, so I know the general computer end, I know I don't
know enough about Macs. What we want to know is what other people think is the
better platform: Amiga, Mac, or PC. My brother has liked what he has heard of
NewTek's VideoToaster for a few few years now, but I have concerns about Amiga
support. I have seen the Amiga and think it is a good machine in general.
But, what do you all think? He wants non-linear video and sound editing for
film production. Well, we would appreciate any help you can give.

Amiga support? What Amiga support?
Although Amiga corporate support won't be back up until Commodore's purchase by
Escom starts rolling, most Amiga/NewTek dealers give excellent support and
their more responsive and usually closer to home.
Videology also does support for all its CIS customers, via CIS, phone or fax,
and has a very satisfied client base working with the Amiga and Video Toaster
since its debut in 1990.

You could start by getting a copy of the latest "Digital Video" magazine. They
do a good job of reviewing the equipment and software. I've seen it on the
newstands. If you can't find it there the subscription number is 800-998-0806

They're objective regarding platform and the information is good enough that
you can evaluate the possible solutions based on what's best for you.
