We returned our Penello for a refund. It'd be a lot more useful if it took
more advantage of Release 4 features such as the Z-buffer, so that brush sizes
and other effects can be keyed on distance. Also, there should be a Penello
.SPX to allow painterly effects to be applied as materials without having to
resort to Video Post and temporary bitmaps.
In its present form, we just don't find that Penello is worth the money.
I agree with you there. In addition to your valid points, there aren't
even support for IFL files. This make it very spacy and very
inconvience for larger projects. Beside that, it's quite difficult to
use two images for transitions. I still haven't figure that out yet
and have to do it in Premiere 4 & Cosa After Effects. I tried
virtually all combination and it just doesn't turn out precisely what
I wanted. Other small but important thing was the inability to read
BXP files such as KPT's Gradient FX, LenZFx, ect.. They should at
least upgrade their IPAS3 to an IPAS4 for the current heavy IPAS
users.
