Jonas, In the materials editor, you know how there's a strength slider for each map? How 'bout the ability to use a grayscale image or flic for it instead? This could help to create some great effects, and just one more layer of complexity for your materials! thanks -Kyle

If you are using R3 or later you should check out the use of the Mask slot next to each map. Masks should give you what you are looking for.

Steven, I'm very familiar with the masking abilities, I just thought it would be cool to have say, a b&w solid mask, for a section. then deal with the strength based on some animated flic. I guess, you could do that already, if you cut out the offending area of the animated map with the mask, then aplied it, but this would alleviate that step, and would allow you to NOT have sn extrodinary amount of 'processed' mask flics – because you could use the same one for a number or slots, with differend cut out masks for each. but anyway, it was just another late_night_thought. <g> -Kyle

<<.. Masks should give you what you are looking for… >> ah.. the intensity of of the pixels in the masking bitmap work like the intensity of the Amount slider… pg. 9-45..

<< Or am I misunderstanding you?>> no, I don't think so. and you're right – I'm now picking my brain up off of the floor and putting it back in my head <g>

Kyle << I'm picking my brain up off of the floor and putting it back in my head>> Animated opacity mapping in combination with % slider does wonders. In addition, several variations mapped to identical models and morphed can really cause collateral damage to the viewer (YEA!!!!) Anyway, leave your brain on the floor… gives it more room to grow <LOL>
