#New Product
5 messages in this thread
Tomorrow we will be announcing our second Windows product, which we plan to
unveil at SIGGRAPH in August. I just thought I would give you a preview since
you are among our most loyal supporters (whether you praise or criticize us, we
think of you as supporters because you do give us valuable feedback). It is not
too late to provide input, but we are obviously on a tight release schedule:
Name: Caligari 3D World Builder
Key features:
-VRML output
-transparently publish across the Internet
-link 3D objects to HTML pages
-support for Microsoft's RealityLab
-in-lining
-Levels of Detail
If you want to know more about VRML, here are a few places to start:
May 15 Newsweek, p. 68-69

You can get on the VRML mailer by sending a message to info-rama@wired.com and
putting "subscribe www-vrml" or "subscribe www-vrml-digest" into the body of
the message.
If you would like to be involved in working on the VRML-based Caligari home
world, please post a message here or send me some private e-mail. We will start
building soon!

I am interested in helping build a VRML product. I have counsulted with GTE
Interactive and MicroAge. I also beta tested Painter 3.0 for the PC.
My current hardware is a 486\33 running Win NT. I have experience with
Wavefront, Truespace, Lightwave, and Strata Studio Pro.
Thank you for your invitation in designing Home World

While my talents are not worthy of contribution to your world builder project,
i can promise to play with it rather enthusiastically after purchasing it!

Sounds good. We are currently looking for artists working on our central area,
and we are going to be fairly selective about that since it will be our main
company image ofr years to come. However, we will later offer to host user
spaces on our server, and we will give you complete freedom to play there!

I'd be very interested in getting more information on the project.
