Greg, Do you get New Media magazine? I thought you did….now, on page 80 of May 95 issue there's a blurb about Imagine's FX. It is in the second column at the end of the Explode Volume paragraph within the "3D Studio Changes Are More Than Skin Deep" article. The magazine states in this paragraph that "All of the Imagine FX plug-ins lack integrated previews, which should be added in a revision". Does this mean that the writers of this article know something about Imagine that the rest of use would be interested in? Steve

>> Do you get New Media magazine? Steve, I don't get New Media, so I haven't seen the article. >> I thought you did….now, on page 80 of May 95 issue there's a blurb about Imagine's FX. And that they don't have a screen that integrates with 3DS well yet. I don't belive that Impulse has written their FX's for use as 3DS plug-ins. Could it be that someone wrote a bridge to use Imagine's FX's with 3DS? I just don't know. >> Does this mean that the writers of this article know something about Imagine that the rest of use would be interested in? << I honestly dont know Steve. I've been sharing up to the minute info on what 3.3 will offer, as well as what/when WinImagine will happen. So far none of it includes anything about 3DS. I'll ask about it though…but in order to do so, please give me as much info as is contained in the article specific to what is being called "Imagine FX". -GreG

>>specific to what is being called "Imagine FX". I can give some clarification here, GreG. Imagine FX isn't related to Imagine; I guess it's sort of a product line type name for a series of 3ds plugins from Schieber Instruments ( Imagine FX, Imagine Key Factory (physics), Imagine Metareyes (metaballs, etc). The FX packages has 6 or 7 particle effects, the coolest being particle cloud and volume explode. The dialog just allows you to set parameters; no preview for the effect like in some of the newer IPASs, so you have to render to see the results of your numbers. John Stetzer JWS

John, Thanks for the info. Now that you mentioned it, I've seen mention of those in the 3DS forum. -GreG
