I don't know diddley about VAXen…but I know on our UNIX boxes, they also
have 'printer drivers' so to speak. That is, there are filter files for
some printers. Others simply go out the port as is. Is it possible that
the VAX is sending your file thru a filter when comming from CMD, it should
already be setup to go directly to the printer?
A good question, but no–no filters. We use the /PASSALL switch on the
print command. This is also how we print files created by WordPerfect 5.0
on the PC. WP5.0 spits its output, via an HP LaserJet printer driver, to a
file. That file is available on the network, so we have a program on the
VAX that picks up the file and sends it to the print queue. No problems
with these files at all, and they should be the same kind of thing that I'm
trying to create on the Amiga. Thanks.
