Hello All! A friend of mine wanted to send me some pictures over Compuserve Mail. Since she has no GIF support, and uses a Mac, I need a TIFF viewer or converter for the Amiga.. Any suggestion? Thank for you attention, Adolfo.

Thanks Ben, But I only have 1 Meg at this time.. And I've been told TAD runs with more than 3 Megs only! Thanks, Adolfo. PS: The question remains: How do I see a TIFF on my Amiga?

If you desire to operate on gray scale TIFs, then one meg might be enough. As for TAD requiring lots of ram…when your picture data alone takes up multiple megabytes…which pixels do you suggest we leave out to make it take up less space? 🙂 pk

Have someone else do the conversion for you, or get more memory! <grin> Ben Amateur Radio Callsign is A A 7 A S

Adolfo: I think there is a utility in Amiga Arts forum's graphics utilities library that converts at least one MAC file format to Amiga IFF. There are some commercial programs which convert a number of IBM and MAC graphics formats to Amiga IFF, as well. At least one of them runs on the Amiga, but I can't remember which one (I use HIJAAK, which runs on the MSDOS platform to do this.) Perhaps the cheapest alternative would be for your sister (who must be a Compuserve user, if she is sending you graphics via CIS) to GO PICS, which is the graphics support forum, enter the library for format conversions, and get a PD utility which will allow her to convert the graphic to GIF on her MAC. I think there are several there. ?|^] Ray Lewis
