I am at present accessing Compuserve using an Amiga 1200 using the program
NCOMM.2 and am from England. Can anyone give me advice about file
downloads using this system or tell me which comms prog I should use to do
this. Thanks john
John: Download AuotPilot (AP.LHA from the ATI/WHAP library of the
AmigaVendor Forum. It will allow you to create catalogs of files, and
then, offline and without connect charges, let you select which files you
want the program to download for you. It also automates messaging.
AutoPilot is a top notch program… it will save you a lot of money.
John,
The best software to use on CompuServe is AutoPilot. You will find the
working demo of it in Library 9 of AmigaVendor forum, AP.LHA, and the
documentation file, APDOC.LHA in the same library. It will automatically
handle all your uploads, downloads, messageing, etc, and then sign you off
to read and answer offline. It can save you a LOT of money in
connect-time charges. AutoPilot is a commercial program, but you can
register for it online once you have it going and are sure you want it.
If you are using NCOMM, see if it can use B protocols, preferably B+.
That's the best protocol to use here.

John,
My advice would be to download AutoPilot from library 9 of the Amiga
Vendor Forum. It has got to be THE way to access Compuserve. You just tell
it to download a file and it goes off and does it. You don't have to worry
about things like protocols or anything. It is shareware, costs 70 dollars
and is worth every penny(cent!)
