Can anyone recommend a service bureau in the Philadelphia area that handles
Amiga and Pagestream files. I have a newsletter I do at work that I am
looking for a better output than my 9 pin dot matrix.

Rick, I can output that file for you with our Varityper 4300P on my Amiga
3001. I use ProPage, Pagestream, Pro Draw and have City Desk 2.0 though I
haven't used it much. We're already doing a national company's newsletter
each month and I'd be happy to talk to you about your project. I'm in
Newark Delaware, which is about thirty or forty minutes south of PHL. I
also can accept your files over the modem by previous arrangement. I'll
E-mail you some particulars.

Where did I get the impression that you were Canadian, and in Canada?? Gee,
I had a friend reciently that was from Newark Delaware, from the way he
talked about it, didn't sound like a big enough town to have a Varityper in
it! <g>

Mike, Actually, Newark, Delaware is in reality a suburb of Pfilthadelphia,
PA. And that town is definitely large enough to house a VT4300P. Of course,
since my service bureau operates out of a Step-van I could be in Canada one
day, Oregon the next [grin]. You see this way I don't have to pay local
taxes on product since I deliver to your door. We are also considering
moving the equipment into either a Beech 19, or Falcon 50, not too sure yet
which one will become available first, of course if I really had my choice
of aircraft I'd take a G-IV. This way you just meet us at the airport of
your choice and pick up the camera ready artwork, your Epson 9 pin could
never deliver! Har!

Me? Jest? Surely you can tell that I am, can't you? Besides the step-van
has gotten too crowded, we're considering a tractor pulling a jitterbug.
But then maybe a 40 footer would be better so's we can slide the firebird
out the back ramp on the Interstate when we go to make deliveries, you know
that might just work. My motto is "Never under 40" (mph). (quote from
sci-fi book ON WHEELS) HA!

Step van? Sounds like a great subject for a magazine feature! If there are
any editors listening, sign me up for this idea… 🙂

Only problem would be keeping the processor's chemistry from fouling each
other. Maybe redesign the processor? No, must use off the shelf
technology. Maybe typesetting in the back of the van, keys and sandwiches
in the front? CDTV guided HUD for directions, Loran and SatNAV to satisfy
Mike and jp too! Instead of photoimager, how about a LaserMax 1000 dpi
printer? But forget the halftones with that job, plus I don't think it will
work on an Amiga. According to the salesman, a board fits into a slot in
the NuBus or AT slots, and on an A3000 them AT slots are too few.

Chris, Pardon me for interrupting the thread, but I'd be interested in that
info also. I am looking to get some business cards, envelopes, and
letterhead printed up from some stuff I designed in ProPage 1.3. Do you
handle those kinds of media?
