Amiga to ApplePrinter
4 messages in this thread
I want to connect my Amiga 500 to my Apple Image Writer II How do I go
about doing this? What cables would I need and where do I get them? Please
put it as simply as possible. I know as much about all this as I do
underwater basket weaving. Thanks…

Mike, I suspect that any commodore computer shop worth its weight will have
the necessary cables. I checked about that issue last year when I was
inquirinbout color printers and I found that there is at least one shop in
the nyc area which has or can get this cable…Leigh's computers (i don't
have their #)…but they're located on 83 and 3 Ave.
I used a sta{dard Apple Super Serial Card to ImageWriter Cable. It seemed
to work fine for me… color and everything. You have to monkey around
with the serial port settings in Preferences, as i recall. Fortunately,
the A500 has standard, ordinary Parallel and serial ports (well, as
"standard" as an RS-232 can be). Remember, you have to set the Preferences
on every disk you boot with. Also, I had a devil of a time getting
PrintMaster to work, until I remembered that the ImageWriter is really a "C
Itoh" printer.
Thank you very much, I will try it out!
