Does anybod know of a good spellchecker or Theraurus for ascii files? I use TEX with CED on a 3000 under 2.04. Thanks Les – via Whap!

Les, Get ISpell v3.11ljr; it should be here on CIS, probably in the AmigaUser Forum libraries. This is a port of the Unix [tm] ispell program. Loren J. Rittle, who did the port, added an ARexx port to the program, so you should be able to call it from your favorite editor. Oh yes, ISpell is a spelling checker; it does not have a Thesaurus included. I'm not sure where to find one of those. Oh, one last note: The spelling dictionary *is* included in the ISpell archive, despite what the documentation implies. –dds (dales@teksce.SCE.TEK.COM) Whappeta-whappeta-Whap!

Electric Thesaurus from Softwood is a nice package for ARexx or UI based lookups of words (not spelling). –Ben

Ben, Thanks for the tip about Electric Thesaurus. An on-line thesaurus could come in handy. The only commercial spelling checker/thesaurus I've ever used was the old Fleet Check program. That one would inevitably crash with corrupted memory after a certain amount of use. –dds (dales@teksce.SCE.TEK.COM) Whappeta-whappeta-Whap!
