I'm curious what types of CD-ROM drives other 3ds users are using, I'm still waiting for NEC to ship the 74. Anybody have an opinion on what the best one ids to use? -A

Andy, I'm using the Texel DM-3021 (internal, audio, 340 msec. access) and it is fast, reliable, and was easy to install. It was also inexpensive – about $320 without a SCSI card (I already had one). Martin

The Texel drives are _extremely_ reliable, and they're as fast as the Toshiba's. Once the double-speed drives have been out awhile, they'll be attractive, but until they've been user-tested, I wouldn't want to have to depend upon one. They're MUCH more complicated internally. – G

I, too, have the Texel. The only down side is that it doesn't have a CD disk bundle with it. Evan
