#3.0 contents?

Couple of queries on 3.0:
1. Re the bitmap editing component. Does it allow you to scan?(if so,
PPaintbrush gets cleared out)
2.Re fonts. Do they come in both TType and PS formats?
3.Re fonts: how do these fonts affect CDR drawings saved in 2.01 format
using the native CDR WFN fonts?
4.Any word on *what* proof of purchase will be required when upgrading at
wherever gets the upgrades?
thanks!

Robert,

No I am afraid it has been removed.
> 2.Re fonts. Do they come in both TType and PS formats?
Yes. The fonts come in TT and AT1.

The fonts are converted automatically if mapped to an appropriate TTF. This
is transparent to the user. If the font did not come from us then you must
add the appropriate mapping.

You will have to ask Cythia (section leader) for the Customer Service
section that one.

Thanks, Paul — you speedily answered it all. Just one quick followup, re
converting. You said the WFN fonts are automatically converted if mapped to
a TT font. But since the package includes Type 1 PS fonts, could I assume
that mapped to those fonts they'll be automatically converted? Or is it a
manual conversion process?

Robert,
The mapping process is done automatically in order of priority. CoreDRAW
polls the True Type engine first to match fonts, then the AT1 engine and
finally WFN. If you wish to use AT1 fonts then simply remove the
corresponding font from True Type and the AT1 will be selected, provided
ATM is running and the font is added to its list.
In the text dialog box, when selecting a font, it will tell you which of
the three the font is.
Paul
Neatly answered, Paul. Thanks!!

No scanner support??? What a disappointment. With all the other
capabilities included with the 3.0 package, I really don't want to
keep another whole paint program on disk, just to scan images in.
Is there a decent, inexpensive Windows scan-only program available?
Paul,
Could you give me Cynthia's CIS ID? I left an order request to Cindy Scott
75230,333 (as suggested in message I found on here) but have had no
acknowledgement as yet.
