#Printer Probs

My Amiga suddenly won't communicate with my printer, although other periphs seem to be working off the parallel port, and my "other" computer seems to drive the printer okay. Any thoughts? Cheers, Paul (WA1OMM)

Paul, What other things have you tried on the parallel port that still work, and what errors are you getting when you try to use the printer? Don

Error in writing – Error 1 That is the error that is on my screen, Other app that seem to work are A64Package (connected to a C64 drive), and Perfect Sound. Cheers, Paul (WA1OMM)

Paul, I'd guess then that your parallel cable is bad. Perhaps a broken wire. Don

No … turned out to be the 8520 directly behind the parallel port. I had a feeling I may have shorted a couple lines. I replaced it this evening and everything is OK. Cheers, Paul (WA1OMM)

Paul, Well…I'm glad you found the problem. I'd have suggested the 8520, but you said other applications could use the parallel port just fine. Don
