a reliable compression algorithm; did CD Solutions produce this? What's it

No the CD-ROM compression algorithm isn't one that CD Solutions came up with
but we can use it. The compression, CRI-X2 is a compression driver by CD ROM,
Inc. (303-526-7600). They have achieved lossless compression rates in the
range of 8:1, and lossy compression rates in the range of 140:1.
