Hello,
Video Toaser User is starting a Newsletter for LightWave users. The
newsletter will appear end June/Beg July and will cover a lot of topics.
I am interested in any comments and suggestions for things you would like
to see covered in the newsletter.
What are your thoughts??

I think you should talk about all the nifty things you can do with InterChange
Plus, and why it's an essential part of any Toaster system. And also talk
about CDROMs, and why they are a great adjunct to Toaster systems.

Other topics not directly related to Syndesis? I don't recall ever seeing a
head-to-head comparison of rendering speeds of different processor boards. It
would make great sense to conduct a comparison with specific examples of what
makes LW go faster.
On a similar tack, a compendium of tricks to make any scene render more
quickly. Another: dispel the myths and misdirection about LightWave compared
to other rendering programs on other platforms. Talk about price, performance,
rigged demos, and then use InterChange to compare the same data rendered on
different systems. (Whoops, there's ICP again.)
I think a companion disk would be a great item for the newsletter, too.

Good News, yer product showed up in the "First Anual Toaster Buyers guide"
in the latest issue of VTU.
Even after all that online debate with David Hopkins? 🙂

I'm a producer and sometimes I don't have enough time to go through the manual
and research problems I might be causing myself. I've had the Toaster for
about 2 1/2 months but it is truely the best for our productions and studio.

Do you have any interest in contributions to this newsletter? I have a niche
in which I feel particular expertise, that being lighting. I am a commercial
photographer and feel that many LW users are truly lacking in this area. I
have some techniques that can add an added dimension of realism to renderings
and would love to share SOME of them!

Yes. Definitely. I am looking for contributors. I need to work out some
details yet with VTU, But I will let you know as soon as I do.

One thing I'd like to see is effect use of Modeler. A tutorial per issue
showing how to go from idea to a 3D model would be good.
Heck, I'd be happy with more tips and tricks like those you talked about
on your tapes. 🙂

Is this newsletter going to be anything like the old "Avid letter" ???
While things are still in the planning stages. We plan on having it much
larger and more comprehensive. Instead of a one page deal, It sould be at
LEAST 8-10 pages every month (hopefully more). But, like I said things
are still in the planning stages and will change for the better…

Will the Newsletter be B&W only or will it include color pics? Am I
pushing it? How about talking to Jim Plant about adding a optional Floppy
for including Texture maps,models etc???
