Novell on Bridge ?

There is a sentence on page 2 of the 2088/2286 Bridgeboard manual under Section
1.1 'About the Bridgeboard' 2nd paragraph second to the last sentence that
reads as follows: "You Can run other PC operating systems."
If that is true my question is can you run Novell 3.11 on a Commodore 386
bridgeboard ?

has anyone tried using Unix on the BB ? Could you set up a BB to act as a Unix
or Novell server ?
Has anyone tried to Run Novell 3.11 on a 386 Bridge board ? There is a
statement to the effect that "other" operating systems can be run on the BB. I
am Thinking of giving it a try. Does anyone know of a reason that it would not

Yes, I'm here. Some people have used Sound Blasters–no problems. With any
add-in board, you have to follow the rules…no COM2, no IRQ3, no memory
location D000-DFFF, plus a few other things. (They're listed in the back of the
386 manual.)
I think by "other operating systems" they meant Windows and OS/2, but some
people have run networks–usually linking in a Bridgeboard to an existing
network, not using the BB as the server.

I would reccomend against using the Bridgeboard as a server, the main
reason being that the Bridgeboard will reboot whenever you reset the
Amiga. If you are running Netware and do not shut down the server
properly, you risk loosing data or cutting off your clients from the
server and downing the net. I know that on my machine I have frequent
resets due to either system crashes or just trying to regain fragmented
memory. I had a friedn that tried to run a PC-BBS on a bridgeboard and had
to take it down for that very reason.
