#A2000/030 system
7 messages in this thread
The following equipment is for sale:
Amiga 2000 – 2 floppies, 2MB chip RAM (MegaChip 2000), WB2.04
GVP Combo 030/50 – 8MB 32-RAM, Quantum 52MB HD
This is a great system to add a used Toaster to. I'm not sure what
the going rates are for the above, I suppose best offer over $1500 is
a good start – if that's too high I'm sure I'l get a lot of messages
telling me so … I'm only about 80% sure I want to sell so I'll be
taking offers for probably at least a week or so … I'd appreciate
the buyer paying for shipping as I'm still trying to recover from 6
months of not working … If someone wants only the A2000 and HD,
they'll have to get their own SCSI controller as the HD is on the
accellerator. Please send EMAil if interested.

Harry,
Does that mean that you are now once again gainfully employed? I hope
things are going well for you!

Yep. I'm with American Megatrends, Inc. (the AMI BIOS people) here in
Atlanta. Took about a 30% pay cut vs. what I was making in Miami, but one
hurricane is more than enough for me … They're supposed to have a really
good bonus (10-30% of gross) so I'm waiting breathlessly for the end of
the year when profits are calculated 8^).
Harry
Harry,
Can you give me a good dal on an AMI motherboard? 🙂

Wish I could 8^) but I'm Engineering, not Sales …
Harry
Harry,
That's _great_. I'm glad to hear that you landed a position with a
solid company and I hope the bonus plan more than makes up for the
pay cut. How do you like Atlanta so far?
Michael –
I'm finding Atlanta to be a lot like Miami was a decade or so ago,
when English was still the predominant language and it wasn't quite
so crowded. Every city has its parts of town that it's best to stay
out of, so that hasn't been a problem, but it has plenty of movie
theatres, malls, etc. within a 20-30 minute maximum drive that I'm
getting more comfortable all the time. And there's an Amiga dealer
just down the road from work! 8^) Now if I can just build a rapport
with him the way I did with my dealer in Miami (on a first name basis
with the last 3 owners, etc.) maybe I can get my discount back …
